If you ever have to make the decision to teach your child to drive, or leave it to the hands of a professional (and the weakness of someone else's heart), pay the money.
There is nothing more insane than someone who has been driving for 30 years trying to teach someone who's been driving for 100 hours. It doesn't compute and it doesn't make for a great parent-teenage connection.
So, even if you have to beg, borrow or steal (well not steal), find the means to get them to a professional program and save yourself some grief, stress and headaches.

In the blink of an eye
Your life can go from light to black.
The horrible incident that happened to actress Natasha Richardson is a reminder that every day is a gift and that it can be taken away in a moment.
Hug the ones you love every day, even if you want to scream in frustration.
Call the friend you have been meaning to talk to but keep putting off.
Do something good for someone you don't know, make a random act of kindness a big a habit as your morning coffee and love, love, love.

On the freelance hunt once again
After 15 months of fun -- chasing and writing daily tech news for InternetNews.com -- I'm returning to fulltime writing and editing freelance work, touching base with ex-colleagues and catching up on everything you miss when you've got your head immersed in smartphones and data storage for 10 hours a day.
